Since 1977, the San Diego Area Writing Project has been dedicated to the improvement of writing for all students and that student writing can be improved by the teaching of writing. We share the belief that writing is critical to learning and a vital tool for communication and should occur regularly in all classes and across the curriculum.
Our programs are facilitated by highly-qualified local teacher consultants. Click on the links below to learn more about our programs for educators:

Youth Voices - Youth Voices is a school-based social network that was started in 2003 by a group of National Writing Project teachers. We are a site for conversations. We invite youth of all ages to voice their thoughts about their passions, to explain things they understand well, to wonder about things they have just begun to understand, and to share discussion posts with other young people using as many different genres and media as they can imagine!
