10th Annual Spring Conference • March 11, 2017

"Why Students Write (TK-16)"

Date: Saturday, March 11, 2017 • 8:00am - 12:00pm • UC San Diego

Cost: $35 Individual / $30 each for school teams of 3 or more. Registration includes light breakfast and materials (no refunds). Payment by check or money order only. Administrator Strand -- A site administrator who accompanies a team of 3 or more registered participants from a single school site may attend at no charge!

Description: A learning opportunity for educators and administrators who support student writers in all content areas. Join SDAWP Fellows in a discussion of writing instruction while sharing ideas in a community of writers. Concurrent sessions will highlight successful writing instruction for all of our students from demonstrations presented by SDAWP Teacher Consultants. The conference is aligned with the CA State Standards (ELA/ELD). Session topics include: using source-based evidence to support claims; supporting young writers TK-3; writing, reading and intercultural communication; the personal essay--argumentative, narrative, informative; writing in the social justice classroom; evaluating and building strong arguments; and more!
